April 22, 2025 is Earth Day, which provides us an opportunity to recognize the importance of protecting the environment and understand its impact on human health. We encourage you to take part in NIH programs that protect the environment, reduce energy consumption, minimize waste generation, and contain operational costs so that we conserve our resources for the NIH mission. Please see the following NIH opportunities that we would like to highlight this year:

Challenge to increase the reliability of and
reduce the energy consumption from cold storage units at the NIH.
·Reduce chemical waste and costs by
utilizing the NIH

the MPW
Totes Program.
·Avoid acquisition costs and waste
by reutilizing equipment and supplies for free with the Excess Product
Catalog and NIH Free Stuff.
