Water Program


​​​​The NIH water management program covers many aspects of water use and discharge. The key goals of the program are to ensure the quality of drinking water to meet the Safe Drinking Water Act; properly discharge wastewater that meets all regulatory requirements; reduce the quantity of stormwater runoff and the pollution that it causes; and protect the quality of local water sources.
