Sign up for NIH Bike to Work Day on May 15 in front of Building 1
Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or trying it for the first time, participating in NIH Bike to Work Day is a simple step toward healthier habits and healthier and stronger communities. Join the ride. You might find it changes more than just your commute.
According to Sean Cullinane, the NIH Lead for Bike to Work Day, “Bike to Work Day is a great opportunity for anyone who is a biker or interested in biking. Given the work, the construction on campus and the increase in gas prices, this is a unique opportunity for anyone at NIH who wants to give this a try."
Listed below are a few options for registering, learning and sharing information on NIH Bike to Work Day and joining the NIH Bike Club.
Register in NIH Bike to Work Day
Select “MD Montgomery County, National Institutes of Health" from the list of pit stops. Sean states, “a pit stop is a specific group where there's an individual who hosts the event or sort of a get together." NIH pit stop is in front of Building 1 on the Bethesda Campus. It is one of the 120 WMATA pit stops in the DMV region. Sean emphasizes, “NIH has been doing it for about 15 to 20 years now. It's a nice meeting opportunity for anyone at NIH who has thought of riding bike to work."

Consider joining the NIH Bike Club to be part of the larger community of bikers. Sean elaborates, “It is an active group of people who are passionate about biking. Anyone interested can join the Bike Club. It's a great network of supportive individuals. The club members do give away or sell used equipment at a reduced price. It is perhaps a nice way to save on equipment costs."

We encourage you to participate at least on May 15 to exercise your commitment to a healthier future and environment. Contact Sean Cullinane at (301) 496-5050 for more information on NIH Bike to Work Day and reasonable accommodation.
