The Bayview Campus is located in Baltimore, Maryland and facilitates research from three of the Intramural Research Program Institutes:
National Institute on Aging
National Institute on Drug Abuse
National Human Genome Research Institute
The campus houses state-of-the-art research laboratories, clinical space, and administrative areas for nearly 1,000 scientists and supporting staff in both clinical and basic research programs. NIA and NIDA are teaming together to reduce the environmental footprint of NIH’s activities at its Baltimore facilities, and we are identifying opportunities to green our activities and become a more sustainable NIH. The NIH Baltimore EMS is the process we use to:
look at what we do
identify how our activities might impact the environment and public health; and
change how we do things to make sure we do as little harm to the environment as possible. Because the Baltimore EMS process requires us to look at everything we do, all employees are involved. NIH Baltimore employees are responsible for doing their jobs in a way that is protective of the environment.
